1. Data controller

MetalLink S.A. (Avenida Nacional, Calle 53 Frangipani, Panama City, Republic of Panama) is the data controller for the personal information it receives through this website and for the commercial communications established with our clients and suppliers.

2. What data we collect

This website is static and has no application server, database, cookies or analytics tools. Browsing these pages therefore creates no record of personal data.

The only personal information we have access to is what you choose to send us voluntarily by email at contacto@metallink.org or on WhatsApp at +507 6338-3094. This information may include your name, company, email address, phone number and the commercial details you share with us about the material you wish to buy or sell.

3. What we use your data for

We use your data exclusively for the following:

  • Preparing and sending buy and sell quotes for metals.
  • Coordinating collection, weighing and dispatch of the load.
  • Managing the commercial relationship and issuing the documentation for the transaction.
  • Complying with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Legal basis for processing

The processing of your data rests on your consent, which you gave voluntarily by maintaining contact with us, and on compliance with Law No. 81 of 26 March 2019, "On the Protection of Personal Data" of the Republic of Panama, and its implementing regulation, Executive Decree No. 285 of 28 May 2021.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as there is an active commercial relationship with us. Once it ends, the information is retained only for the period required by the legal, tax and accounting obligations applicable in Panama. At the end of that period it is deleted or permanently anonymised.

6. Sharing your data with third parties

We do not sell or transfer your personal data. We share it only with the following third parties, and only when the transaction requires it:

  • Transport and logistics service providers responsible for dispatch.
  • The WhatsApp messaging platform, which is operated by Meta.
  • The email provider used by our organisation.
  • Public authorities, where there is a legal or judicial obligation to do so.

7. Your rights

Under Law No. 81 of 2019 you have the right to know, rectify, cancel or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contacto@metallink.org stating your request. We will reply within the periods set by law.

If you consider that your request has not been handled properly, you may approach the Data Protection Directorate of the National Transparency and Access to Information Authority (ANTAI), the supervisory authority designated by Law No. 81 of 2019.

8. Information security

We apply reasonable security measures to protect the information you send us. That said, no transmission over the internet is entirely free of risk: using WhatsApp and email means the communication travels over networks controlled by third parties. We recommend that you do not send sensitive or confidential information through these channels.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Any modification will be published on this same page with the corresponding update date.

10. Contact

For any question about this policy you can write to us at contacto@metallink.org or call us at +507 6338-3094, during Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00.
